Abstract | The aim of this study was to evaluate the quality of life in diabetic major amputees. Ten patients in treatment at the Vascular Surgery Outpatient Clinic of the Federal University of S (a) over tildeo Paulo and Orthopaedic Surgery Outpatient Clinic of the Dr Carmino Caricchio Hospital (Tatuape) answered the SF-36. The average score of each domain was obtained as follows: Functional capacity: 42.50; Physical aspects limitations: 25.00; Pain: 61.30; General Health status: 65.40; Vitality: 66.00; Social aspects: 56.25; Emotional aspects: 23.30; Mental health: 67.20. The lowest average scores were collected among the physical aspects limitations and emotional aspects. On the other hand, the domains with the highest average scores were vitality, general health status and mental health. |
